Sport events in and around Nice
Voiles D’antibes – Panerai Trophy – Antibes. A celebration of yachting.
Established in 1996, the beginning of the Mediterranean Yachting season is marked by Les Voiles d’Antibes. Beautiful vintage yachts (built before 1950), classic yachts (built before 1976) and traditional yachts, as well as the metric classes (6 MJI, 8MJI and the 12 MJI competitors of the America’s Cup from 1958 to 1987), compete in this friendly regatta. An established part of the great history of International yachting.
Woman’s World Cup Football
The Allianz Riviera, where OGC Nice usually plays in League 1, hosts the Women’s World Cup.
Ultra-Trail Côte D’azure Mercantour
Starting the race a few km North of Nice, the runners will cross incredible terrain as they work their way for up to 130km to the high peaks of the Mercantour Massif. the Ultra Trail Cote d’Azur Mercantour is an incredible test of endurance surrounded by the beauty of the Mercantour national park.
The Free Diving Championship – Villefranche
The Free Diving Championship is held in June in the lovely town of Villefranche-Sur-Mer. This popular event takes place in the harbour where up to 40 competitors compete to win the title, a fun day out a short distance from Villa Hostels.
The Nice Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of international long-distance triathlons organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC).
The 3 stages of the race are made up of a 3.86 km swim, a 180.25 km bicycle ride and a 42.20 km run, raced in that order and without a break. It is considered one of the most difficult one day sporting events in the world.

Ironman 70.3, also known as a Half Ironman, is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races. The “70.3” refers to the total distance in miles (113.0 km) covered in the race, consisting of a 1.2-mile (1.9 km) swim, a 56-mile (90 km) bike ride, and a 13.1-mile (21.1 km) run.
