Do you want to Ski the French Alps?
Spend a great day skiing or snowboarding on the slopes in Auron. Two hours from the Villahostels and easily accessible by bus (Bus 91) or by hire car (experience with narrow roads and switchbacks required. Be careful!)
With its 135 km of slopes, the Auron resort is the largest ski area in the Alpes-Maritimes, equipped with a modern ski lift system and artificial snow technology so you can enjoy the ski season from the beginning of December to mid-April.
Spread over 4 sectors (Las Donnas, Sauma Longue, Demandols, Lieuson), the ski area has a great choice for every level of skier. Snow gardens, family park, snowpark, boardercross or slopes for seasoned skiers.
If you are new to skiing or you are a beginner please take a ski guide from one of the many ski schools in Auron! (Ask at reception). It’s easy to get hurt or lost if you don’t know what you are doing, especially if you are a beginner who decides to go it alone. Be safe! For ski guides, see https://www.esfauron.com/
Don’t Ski? No problem!
There’s still plenty to do around the pretty village, Ice skating, sledding, massage, relaxation and well-being, shopping, cool bars and cafés or hop on a lift to a mountain restaurant and take in the beautiful views with a hot chocolate or some great food and drinks.
For the more adventurous, hire some snowshoes from the ski shop and hike up the mountain, make sure you know where you are going and tell someone what you plan to do! There are guided tours available in the village.

An alternative resort to Auron is Isola 2000. A modern village, very popular but possibly not quite as charming. It has a large party scene and plenty to do with some great ski runs, great as a second option if you are staying overnight.
