The best beach in Cap d’Ail is Plage Mala, pictured in the images above. To access, exit the train station, cross the tracks and head downhill and to the right to Plage Mala. The walk will take about 10 minutes and goes along the coastal edge. There are caves to swim to, water sports such as paddle boarding and canoeing and also cliffs to dive from. There are two private beach bars on Plage Mala: L’Eden and “La Reserve”. Plage Mala would be rated as one of the better beaches on the Riviera.
From the left hand side of the beach take the scenic route along the sea past some very luxurious and picturesque villas. Louis Lumiere, one of the founding brothers of cinematography resided in a villa in Cap d’Ail for some time.
To access Cap d’Ail: Take the bus 100 from Garibaldi Square Segurane stop: €1.50. Alternatively the train will cost about €6 return and goes along an extremely scenic route.
